About TweetKnot
TweetKnot helps people tie a community together on X without Communities. You give it the people, hashtags and keywords that define your group. It gives you back the X searches that make up the group's feeds, a step-by-step X List checklist, and a link you can share so others can copy the whole thing.
We call the result a knot: a few ordinary X features, tied tightly enough to hold a group together.
Why it exists
X closed its Communities feature in May 2026. Groups that had lived inside a Community were told to move to private group chats or to X's own topic timelines. Neither works for an open community that newcomers can find and join.
The pieces of a public community are still on X, though: Lists for membership, hashtags for identity, search for discovery. They just take some fiddly work to set up. TweetKnot does that work.
How it works
- Everything runs in your browser. The knot builder and the hashtag planner are plain JavaScript. They don't call X or any other service. They build links, and X opens them when you click.
- No account, no login. We never ask for your X password or access to your account.
- Your knots stay with you. The builder remembers your last knot in your own browser's storage. Share links carry the knot in the part of the address after the #, which browsers don't send to servers.
- No tracking. There's no analytics, no ads and no cookies.
The topic knots
The knot directory has ready-made recipes for 30 topics, from cricket to WordPress plugins. They are built only from hashtags, keywords and filters. We don't list individual people. You add your own members.
Who runs it
TweetKnot relaunched in 2026 as an independent project under new management. It has no connection to the earlier owners of this domain or to the service that ran here before. We don't have its old pages or members, and the topic knots are written fresh, without reference to the old site's groups.
