Building a knot
- Go to the knot builder on the home page.
- Give the knot a name. It doubles as the X List name, so the builder keeps it to 25 characters.
- Add members as handles (
@name) or profile links, one per line or separated by commas. - Add hashtags and keywords. Phrases with spaces are quoted automatically.
- Open Filters to leave out words, tags or accounts, pick a language, hide replies, require media or set a minimum number of likes.
The feeds update as you type.
What the feeds are

Each has a Latest link (everything, newest first) and a Top link (X's ranking), plus a copy button for the raw query.
Sharing, exporting, importing
- Copy share link puts the whole knot in a link. Anyone who opens it gets an editable copy. Nothing is stored on our side.
- Export JSON downloads the knot as a small file.
- Import JSON loads a file exported from TweetKnot.
The hashtag planner
The planner is for running a regular hashtag chat. Enter the tag, the day, time and time zone, and your questions. It checks the tag, lists the next six sessions in several time zones, writes the announcement, reminder and question posts with X's character count, and gives you a calendar file.
Topic knots
The directory has recipes for 30 topics. Open one, then use Open in the builder to load it and add your own members.

Common questions
What is a knot?
A knot is a community on X made from ordinary features: an X List of members, one or more hashtags, and a set of saved searches. TweetKnot's builder produces the searches and a checklist for the List.
Why does a search open with no results?
You need to be logged in to X to see search results. If you are, the hashtag may simply be quiet: try the Top tab, remove filters such as Minimum likes, or widen the language.
Why is my member feed split into parts?
Each query is kept at 500 characters or fewer, because long X searches tend to fail. Large member lists are divided into several feeds, and every member appears in one of them.
Where are my knots saved?
Your last knot is saved in your browser's local storage on this device. For a backup, export it as JSON or copy the share link.
Can TweetKnot add people to my X List for me?
No. TweetKnot never connects to your X account. It gives you a checklist and profile links, and you add members on X yourself.
