Quotations on X: build this knot

Quote accounts are everywhere on X, and many of them attribute lines to people who never said them. A quotations knot is more fun when it includes the people who check sources and explain where a line really comes from.

The recipe searches the quote tags and phrase and filters follow-back chains. Add literary accounts, librarians and quote-checkers as members for a feed with better sourcing.

Who to add as members

Literary and library accounts, quote-checkers, poets and writers who share passages with sources. We don't list anyone by name: pick the people you already read, so the knot reflects your corner of the topic.

Once you add members, the builder makes three more feeds: everything they post, their posts on this topic, and replies sent to them.

Tips for this knot

  • Before reposting a famous quote, search the exact wording in quotes to see where it came from.
  • Add an author or book as a keyword for a themed feed.
  • Images filter shows quote cards; switch it off for text.

Setting up the X List

  1. Open Lists from your profile menu and create a list called Quotations.
  2. Keep it public if you want others to follow it, or make it private for your own reading.
  3. Add members from the list editor or from each profile's menu.
  4. Pin it so it shows up as a tab on Home.
