Software Developers on X: build this knot

Developers on X share release notes, debugging war stories, career advice and the occasional flame war about tabs and spaces. The community has no single home, so the useful posts are scattered across language tags, framework tags and personal accounts.

This knot is a starting point. It catches the broad developer tags and the everyday vocabulary of code review, and filters the crypto noise that attaches itself to anything technical. Swap in your own stack as keywords (Rust, Kotlin, Postgres) and add the engineers you learn from as members.

Who to add as members

Engineers who write clearly about their work, maintainers of the libraries you use, and a few developer advocates. We don't list anyone by name: pick the people you already read, so the knot reflects your corner of the topic.

Once you add members, the builder makes three more feeds: everything they post, their posts on this topic, and replies sent to them.

Tips for this knot

  • Add your language or framework as a hashtag for a narrower feed.
  • #100DaysOfCode is great for beginners and noisy for everyone else. Remove it if you don't need it.
  • Use Links to find blog posts and talks rather than hot takes.

Setting up the X List

  1. Open Lists from your profile menu and create a list called Software Devs.
  2. Keep it public if you want others to follow it, or make it private for your own reading.
  3. Add members from the list editor or from each profile's menu.
  4. Pin it so it shows up as a tab on Home.
