Technology News on X: build this knot

Technology news moves fast on X, and most of it arrives through quote posts and threads rather than headlines. A good tech-news knot catches launches, outages, policy changes and earnings before they turn into a week of hot takes.

The recipe below sticks to the broad tags and the phrases reporters and companies use when something actually ships. It filters crypto airdrops and giveaways, the two biggest sources of junk on tech hashtags. The member feed is where the knot gets useful: add the reporters, analysts and engineers whose posts you trust, and read their feed first.

Who to add as members

Reporters on a tech beat, the newsrooms they work for, a few analysts, and engineers who explain things clearly when something breaks. We don't list anyone by name: pick the people you already read, so the knot reflects your corner of the topic.

Once you add members, the builder makes three more feeds: everything they post, their posts on this topic, and replies sent to them.

Tips for this knot

  • Set Minimum likes to 20 or so on the topic feed if you only want stories that are getting traction.
  • "Product launch" alone is broad. Add the product category you care about as a keyword.
  • Keep company accounts in a separate knot if they drown out the reporters.

Setting up the X List

  1. Open Lists from your profile menu and create a list called Tech News.
  2. Keep it public if you want others to follow it, or make it private for your own reading.
  3. Add members from the list editor or from each profile's menu.
  4. Pin it so it shows up as a tab on Home.
